Gardens The one-hectare plot [2.4 acres] contains the old converted barn building, swimming pool, and pigeonnier. The rest of the plot is a simple, but imaginatively designed garden. Predominantly grass, ideal for childrens games, with high laurel hedges to offer welcome shade during the summer months, the garden contains a variety of fruit and nut trees.

Swimming pool and Pigeonnier The pool, patio and secluded poolside barbecue area for alfresco eating [some 280 sq mtrs of attractive patterned paving] is totally fenced to meet the latest requirements of the French Government, with two ‘childproof’ access gates. The 12m x 6m pool is kept spotlessly clean by means of a ‘robot’ pool cleaner and an efficient filtration system. Unlike most pools it has both a seven foot deep-end suitable for diving, without the danger of a split head, and a shallow end, enthusiastically enjoyed by ‘little ones’ of all ages, with the aid of either inflatable arm bands or rings. A feature of the Tarn area, the pigeonnier [or dovecote], houses a selection of inflatables, cushions and loungers etc., with the pool filtration and cleaning system under the floor. Recently added to the pool is a series of steps to make access easier for children and elderly guests.

Surrounding countryside
Surrounded on three sides by fields, vineyards and small copses, the only passing traffic to disturb La Vele visitors will be the occasional local farmer examining his current crop. Peace, privacy and tranquility are therefore guaranteed.
